This nursery is thoughtfully designed with child development, comfort, and aesthetics in mind, emphasising a neutral base with curated colour accents, layered textures, and timeless furniture choices. It represent a balanced approach to nursery design: calm yet creative, functional yet beautiful. Practicality with an imaginative design, suitable for both baby and parent interaction.

The style reflects a modern, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic with a focus on natural materials, soft textures, and playful yet calm elements. As this was the clients wish the desired Safari theme has been subtly included throughout the space without interfering with a calm and serene feel.

• The use of rounded, arched wall paint in earthy tones (terracotta, sage green, and dusty blue) adds a whimsical focal point behind the dresser. This technique softens the lines of the room and introduces playful energy without overwhelming the space. On the other side of the room we incorporated the bold, muted green from the arches which anchors the room and introduces a nature-inspired tone that promotes calmness and grounding—ideal for a nursery and in line with the subtle safari theme

• A palette of whites and natural wood tones ensures a calm, clean backdrop, allowing the coloured accents and décor to stand out. The filtered sunlight enhances the warm wood tones and natural fiber elements, such as the woven baskets and timber bookshelves, reinforcing the organic feel.

• The placement of the glider near the window maximises natural light for reading or feeding, while the dresser and shelves offer practical storage and display.

​

• Layered textures such as the plush animals, floor cushions, and round play mat, add comfort and encourage floor play and relaxation. It adds tactile warmth which is essential in a nursery environment.

• Consistency in materials (light oak finishes) across furniture creates cohesion, while playful wall art and books add personality.
